An Oldie but a Goodie!

Recently I was asked to do a Watercoloring class and use a stamp set that I haven't used in years.  Since I don't usually use retired sets in classes I had to dig the stamps out from the shelving I call the "Stamp Grave Yard" (because once they go there, they may not see daylight for ever!) and created this card.  I like the earthy feel of this card, which we watercolored using (also upon request) Watercolor Pencils.  I know that Stampin Up! no longer carries these, however they can be purchased at just about any local craft store in the Art Department.  After coloring the image with the pencils, we used Blender Pens to blend the colors together, and I think the result was fitting to the feel of the card.  The wood grain background, torn cardstock edges, natural ribbon and wood button gives it a very masculine feel.

Materials Used:
Stamp Sets:  Thoughts of Father (Retired), Hardwood Background, new in-Celebrate the Everyday catalog
Papers:  Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze, Sahara Sand, Whisper White Cardstocks
Inks:  Staz-On Black, Sahara Sand Classic
Accessories:  Watercolor Pencils (Retired from SU! product line), Blender Pens, Natural Trim, Naturals Designer Buttons, Ovals Collection Framelits, Big Shot, White Bakers twine (in button holes)

Oh Happy Day!

I love this card!  It's so quick and fun that I plan to make many more.  It makes a great birthday or congratulations card.  It would also be great for grade school accomplishments, like passing a big test, or a moving up a grade!

The texture on the solid cardstock adds a little detail that doesn't go unnoticed.  You can emboss a whole quarter sheet of cardstock and then cut the strips to fit.  You'll get at least three depending on the width you choose.

Stamp and cut out the greeting using the Big Shot and the Chalk Talk Framelits.  I added an In Color Dahlias to the top for a little extra detail, but you could switch that out with any of our Designer Buttons.

Raising up the greeting gives it some added dimension and makes it stand out that much more!
Materials Used:
Stamp Sets:  Chalk Talk
Papers:  Very Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple, Crisp Cantalope, Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper
Inks:  Bermuda Bay
Accessories:  Alphabet Press Embossing Folder, Big Shot, In Color Dahlias, Dimensionals

A New and Improved beginning!

Hello there!  My name is Kelli, I'm a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, and I'm so excited to share my new blog with you!  Those who know me, know that I've tried keeping up with a blog before, with little success.  I found that I had all sorts of great ideas, just not enough time to post them. Time flies when you have a family and kids who are always busy!  So my posts always got pushed aside, but not anymore.  As much as I dislike New Year's Resolutions, I've decided to make a personal one for myself anyway, and that is to make more time for the things I love to do! And though I love spending time with my family, I enjoy the time I get to spend with fellow stampers, just being creative.  I also love to share that creativity with others.  I find it's a huge stress reliever and as other stampers will tell you, it's better (and cheaper) than therapy!
So this blog is my new beginning!  I will try to post at least once a week and more often when time allows!   You might get to know my family a little here and there, but mostly I will share fun creative things that I've made, creations from fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators and other things that I find inspiring!  I hope that you enjoy and find inspiration when you visit!

Materials used:
Stamp Set: Timeless Talk
Papers: Pool Party CS, Basic Gray CS, Whisper White CS, I Am Me Designer Series Paper(DSP)
Inks: Classic Ink Pads-Basic Gray, Calypso Coral
Markers-Calypso Coral, Pool Party, So Saffron
Accessories: Chevron Embossing Folder, Labels Collection & Circles Collection Framelits, Sizzix Big Shot, Pacific Point Bakers Twine, Stampin' Dimensionals, Tombow Multi Purpose glue, Scissors

For a little extra detail:  I stamped the telephone twice (once for the focal point and once on scrap CS) and using makers colored both images. Then I fussy cut the reciever and dial out and attached them to the focal point with dimensionals.  I also fussy cut the caption bubble and raised it up with dimensionals as well.  The baker's twine is attached with dots of Multi Purpose Glue that I applied to the image and let set until it got tacky.  Then I pressed the twine onto it as I curled it over the stamped image.
